So, I was watching the news today to distract myself because I’m still in the hospital–9 days and counting–and I came across a live broadcast about a runaway balloon with a 6 yr old boy trapped inside. I’ve been following this story for quite some time and now the balloon has landed. As I’m watching I’m hearing there is now no one inside that balloon, so where is that 6 yr old boy?
What started out as one story now has become something else entirely. Something that could very well become tragic. Because at some point, the child fell out. So, unless I turn on the Cartoon Network, it doesn’t pay to turn on the TV if I want to distract myself because it ends up being nothing but bad news half the time. Unfortunately, I’m distracted, just not in a good way.
***Update–The 6 Yr Old Boy Falcon Heene, was found several hours later hiding in a cardboard box in his attic at home safe and sound. So, this story at least, didn’t have a tragic ending after all.

My boss was following this on the radio and kept coming out of his office to give us updates. He LOVES stuff like this. He’s so gossipy for a man! LOL I know what you mean about distractions though. I hate being sick because I can’t work.

Well now they think it might be a fake. I hope not. If this was just for a show which is what the boy said then it is a shame.

When my children were younger, we didnt watch to news in front of them because of how disturbing just watching the news can be.
I hope this truly wasnt a hoax, beyond the legalities, it is just wrong to play with peoples emotions like that. And what would they be teaching their children?

That could have been so much worse than it was. I bet they’ll be watching him closer next time.
