Going Zen ~ Master the art of living

Going Zen ~ Master the art of living
In a past blog I believe I mentioned that along with being a writer I am a massage therapist.  During my training I was honored to learn the ways of Acupressure and Shiatsu and the backgrounds of those techniques which stem from Traditional Chinese Medicine and the belief of the life force chi.  From there I learned about the Tao.  I haven’t been the best at practicing meditation and learning to just let go and let be because life gets in the way and old habits are hard to break.  This year I’m hoping to change that and return to a simpler state of mind and being and in doing so I’d like to share some of the teachings with you.  So be on the look out for my Going Zen blogs throughout the coming weeks.
The following is a good example of how I feel about my writing career since no matter what I’m doing, whether I’m at my computer or not, I’m creating…

MASTER THE ART OF LIVING
The person who is a master in the art of living makes little
distinction between their work and their play,
their labor and their leisure, their mind and their body,
their education and their recreation,
their love and their religion.
They hardly know which is which.
They simply pursue their vision of excellence and grace in whatever they do,
leaving others to decide whether they are working or playing.
To them, they are always doing both.

    Hi CR,
A brief but thought provoking blog! As a practicing Buddhist I understood exactly what you were saying. I too, am always writing, regardless of where I am. I often come up with my best ideas when I am walking. Sometimes I will be figuring out a scene and the solution comes to me as I am walking my best friend, Venus. She IS my best friend. Thanls to her, I must leave the desk chair five times a day to walk her. It does us both good and invariably, I come back with tons of inspiration!

Very nice blog CR. Plenty to digest. My hubby and I have started meditating twice a day, it’s part of a class we are taking.

I have discovered so much just in the past three weeks since we’ve started, and have watched significant thing materialize.

I’m not sure what got me away from meditating in the first place, when I was younger I did so often.

Hubby & I met years ago at the School of Metaphysics, where meditation was an integral part of our learning. I am not sure where I got side tracked, probably having children,LOL, but I am so glad to be back into it.

Thank you for such a lovely post.
    Blessings

I need to start meditating again. I let myself get too caught up in every day life that I don’t take any time away for me. You have inspired me to start doing otherwise.
