Artfull Bras Project

Good evening everyone,

I’ve been hard at work the last few days trying to meet my deadline. Usually when a deadline is looming it’s actually easier to buckle down and write. This time though, I feel like I’m fighting for every word. Because I’m so easily distracted lately, I’ve tried to stay away from Twitter. (And that is soo not easy to do). I’ve even neglected my email so that I can focus on my WIP. I just knew that if I read my email, I’d find something in my inbox to distract me.

I was right. I found a link to HERE. The Artfull Bras Project was created as a project for Breast Cancer Awareness. Here’s just an example of one of the bras that will eventually sold at auction to raise funds for the Best Chance Network.

Unique huh?? I can’t even begin to imagine where an idea like this would come from. My stories, my characters, that’s the extent of my creativity. I only wish this display would make it’s way to NY. I’d pay to see these bras in person.

About the Artfull Bras Project:

Members of Quilters of South Carolina have created one-of-a-kind bras for Breast Cancer Awareness. The exhibit consists of forty-nine original works of art which are unique, entertaining, humorous, and beautiful to make the public aware of breast cancer, to memorialize those lost to the disease, and to honor survivors.

This exhibit will tour SC until Oct ‘09 at which time individual Artfull Bras will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to the Best Chance Network, a program to provide care and treatment of uninsured women across the state who are diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer.

The bras come prepared for display on their own hangers and are available for exhibit across the state of South Carolina. The exhibit is available until October of 2009. If you are interested in delighting and inspiring your organization membership, contact Sandra Baker, president of QSC at Sandra25@bellsouth.net
