Hi everybody
I thought I would hit you up with some dialog questions.
“It’s disgusting, it’s outrageous, it’s beyond anything I’ve ever known!” spluttered Lord Palm indignantly.
“You wouldn’t dare!” gasped Lord Palm.
“What’s your name?” she asked the first footman
I am having problems with this. if it is a question or reaction, do you insert the question mark or exclamation point and keep as written as above?
Or do you remove question mark and insert comma.
I have heard two schools of thought on this, so I thought I would ask my esteemed fellow authors.
…and how was your week? I asked. LOL

Hi Mark, with dialogue, you always use the proper punctuation be it a question mark or exclamation. Having said that, it means you won’t need the dialogue tags.
“What’s your name?” speaks for iteself an won’t always require the words ’she asked’ after it unless there are several people talking and you need a clarification of which one is being addressed.
Dude…you write the strangest blogs of anyone I know. LOL!
