Most of the authors I know either google themselves looking for comments, reviews and where their books are being talked about. Many of us have alerts set up so the news pops into our mail boxes. I do the alert but every once in awhile I run a Google search on myself “just in case”.

So this week when Jason’s Accord went up on Fictionwise — debuting in the top 150 out of 6497 in its category and today at 104 in that class — I did an all around google for Jason’s Accord.

Now I know there are loads of guys named Jason and one of the most popular cars is a Honda Accord….and guys named Jason drive Accords. The search brought up LOTS of Jason’s Accords….and one ad even had “Take a Hot Ride in Jason’s Accord.”  Now Jason’s Accord - the book — takes place in the future with space ships and such. Could be. There were some other not so great comments about other Jasons and other Accords. A mixed bag. It was kind of fun reading through the comments, check out which ones could apply to my book, entertaining at best. It also got me to thinking that before I settle on a title in the future I may want to google it not just to see if someone else has used it, but what other products might pop up with that name.

And yes, I have a new google alert set up  - for Jason’s Accord — never know what kind of story line might pop up from that thread.
